Increase Production, Clean Produce
While current lettuce production figures for greenhouse soil production show harvests of 108 plants/m2/year, Hydronov’s technology allows harvesting of up to 500 plants/m2/year in a wide variety of climates around the world. Our production schedules allow for harvest every day, all year long.
The produce is clean and free of any contaminants that can be present in outdoor crops.

The Hydroponic Process
Hydroponics is most simply defined as “growing without soil.” Early systems replaced soil with growing media, such as sand, peat moss, or rockwool. Modern systems replace the growing media with water, which prevents the depletion of these natural resources.
How does it work? In traditional growing methods, plants are not feeding on the soil; they are feeding on minerals within the soil. Hydroponics replaces those soil-based nutrients by making those minerals available directly from the water.
The growing process for high-density baby leaf production
Hydronov has been producing baby leaf lettuce on deep water Floating Raft Technology (FRT) since 2005. Our original trials have developed into productive commercial systems. Shown below is some of the equipment used in the process.
